Chalk House Sessions continues the spirit of the much beloved Hilltop Sessions - a grassroots series founded by Maia Eden and Oliver Dudok van Heel in 2021 - with a new voice and vision at the helm.
Curated by singer-songwriter (and recovering lawyer) Erika Olson, Chalk House Sessions is rooted in the belief that music can build community, spark conversation, and even shift the world a little on its axis.
We showcase original artists across genres - indie, folk, pop, rap, piano ballads, electronic, and everything in between - choosing songs for their honesty, craftsmanship, and emotional resonance rather than style or popularity.
You don’t have to know who’s playing. You just have to be curious. Come with an open mind and let yourself be surprised. It’s like a surprise case of music: always different, always something worth tasting.
Some nights are stripped back and intimate, others louder and electric - but every session is designed with intention: to connect artist and audience in a space where the songs come first.

A typical night might feature a headline act with a solid following and a body of recorded work, alongside a rising artist ready to take their songs to a new audience. The common thread is simple: great writing, honest performance, and a willingness to connect.
